RGS230 Rotary Grinder
The RGS230 provides accuracy up to 0.1mm on grinding tolerance and uses continuous motion, allowing the operator to load the machine at the same time as grinding. The totally enclosed fan cooled 30 HP (22 kW) drive motor is designed to remove up to 1 in.² (645 mm²) of ingate at one time.
Internal Hydraulic System
The RGS230 has an inbuilt hydraulic power pack. The power pack supplies hydraulic power for the spindle brake for rapid stops, for hydraulic belt tensioning and rotary table motion. The belt tension is also monitored and will cause an "Emergency Stop" shutdown should the abrasive belt break during operation. Belt tracking is electronic and is adjusted from the front panel.
Grinding Belt
The RGS 230 is designed for use with standard 4" wide x 132" long (100mm x 3350mm) abrasive belts which are the most economical size for ingate removal
Operator Interface Panel
This panel allows for digital programming of the following parameters: grind rate, finished height, ingate height, belt oscillation distance, incremental feed and spark out cycles as standard. In addition, the RGS230 also has part storage for 850 parts. The panel also displays operating modes, machine alarms, diagnostic screens, and preventive maintenance alarms with a PLC low battery warning.
Operator Controls
The operator controls provide the start/stop of the rotary table, allow incremental up/down movement for fine adjustment and belt wear and has an emergency stop.
Work Table
The 31 ½" (800mm) diameter table has ½" (12mm) T-slots as standard for fast tooling changes. Minimum throat opening is 2" (50 mm) and the maximum throat opening is 6¼" (160 mm).
